    Los Angeles Pétanque Club
We must say a few words about the LA Club. In 1998 and over the past years, they have assisted us in getting the Oakhurst club started, and continuing to support us. They have visited, brought boules, encouraged us, and have hosted our members at their courts when our people visit Los Angeles. We look upon LA Pétanque Club as our "parent" club and we appreciate their friendship! Our particular thanks to Max and Gisele Legrand and Steve Bush and his late wife Dolores, for their unfailing good cheer and patience.

    PURCHASING BOULES:

Pétanque America Nice folks we've dealt with many times before, located in Amelia Island, Florida. Largest selection of boules and equipment brands in the U.S. Buy online!

If you want to go big-time and have custom-made boules fitted exactly to your hand measurements and weight specifications, go to the La Boule Bleue's Website where they'll lead you step-by-step through the measuring process to make sure they produce boules made exactly to your hand size, body height and weight. Choose the striations (markings) you want as well as custom engraving with your name or initials. HINT: you'll also want to have a weight and length converter on hand to turn inches to centimeters, and pounds to kilograms. With shipping and everything custom - including your initials, probably in the vicinity of $45 to $128 per set of 3 boules. Whatta status symbol, eh?

Most beginners find cheaper boules work best. Then, later, when you know you'd do better with a larger/smaller or lighter/heavier boule you can order the more expensively manufactured boules. In addition, you'll want to have a pocket scorekeeper, at least 4 or 5 cochonnets, and if you don't like bending over to pick up boules, handy extensible magnets are also sold by the suppliers. With your boules you'll want some form of carrying case. Again, these are sold by most of the suppliers.
